Jon M Queen DC is a law, finance and economics specialist focusing on capital markets and trading transactions in CIS, carbon trading, project finance and risk quantification. He also executes deals under the Kyoto Protocol’s Clean Development Mechanism, Joint Implementation Mechanism, as well as under the WWF’s Gold Standard and the Voluntary Carbon Standard in addition to equity and fixed income placement endeavors.

With a degree in Economics in Cornell University, Jon M Queen DC studied law in the University of Pennsylvania.  Before venturing into the alternative energy market, he was an attorney Latham & Watkins LLP and a licensed securities representative at John Hancock Financial Services where he helped undertake the firm’s climate change and greenhouse gas business development initiative. He moved to the Anemone Group of Companies as Executive Director, as well as a Senior Vice President of the International Environmental Trading Group and its Eastern European Head. He then became the Director and Head of International Sales at Phoenix Capital – a full service investment bank based in Kiev before joining Jaspen Capital Partners where he is currently affiliated.

As early as his first job, Jon M Queen DC already has his heart on dealing with alternative energy and climate change. Answering an interview on the most difficult decision he faced, he stated that it was leaving his job at Phoenix: “I had worked closely with the bank’s management and I shared their optimistic entrepreneurial spirit. But as you age, it becomes increasingly important to justify what you are doing and where you are going each morning when you shave in the mirror. At some point I realized it was time to move on and pursue different opportunities.”  And such opportunities lead him to where he is best at- an advocate for change.
